OK, so the Lovers’ bassist and principal writer is my brother Chris. And I got to sing on several songs. And one cut –- “Coming Home” -– is a reworking of a tune I wrote with my mom when I was about 10. The truth is, even if I had no personal connections to the band at all, I would love them for their indefatigable energy, genre-bending arrangements, and smart and poignant lyrics. While not expressly Christian music, there is some fine theology in these grooves, and “Not Long For This World” is a modern hymn.
